Philip J. Fry

Philip J. Fry was born in 1974. Growing up, Fry had always dreamed of being an astronaut like Neil Armstrong and those other brave guys no one ever heard of. In high school, he had 3 cola-induced heart attacks, plus he threw up a lot and nobody liked spending a week with him. He opened an account of 93 cents at the Big Apple Bank, with his PIN number being the price of a cheese pizza and a large soda at Panucci’s Pizza (1077). His only known friend was Richie, who swore he wasn’t taking drugs, and then later sold Fry his own mom’s VCR. He also used to have a girlfriend named Michelle, who left him for another guy and put his stuff out on the sidewalk.

One fateful night of December 31, 1999, he delivered a pizza to a cryogenics lab. After realizing it was a crank call, he gave up and celebrated the new year in the lab. Unfortunately, the chair Fry was sitting in didn’t have Homer Simpson’s invention, so the chair fell over and he fell into the cryogenics chamber, and got frozen for a thousand years. Now in the year 3000, his new friends are Leela and Bender, and he works for Planet Express as a delivery boy. He lives with Bender in Robot Arms apartment 00100100, New New York. His favorite TV shows are All My Circuits, and Sanford & Son. His tastes in music ranges from Sir Mix-A-Lot to the Beastie Boys.

Fry is the main character in Futurama, and he isn’t very bright. He gets freaked out and does foolish things when something chaotic happens. He’s been known to jump out of intergalactic space ships onto a planet that is about to implode, wanting to trade his lungs for gills, blurt out his PIN number on several occasions, and spend millions of dollars for a can of anchovies.
